BETA VERSION NOTICE: This software is currently in Beta version and may contain bugs or incomplete features. Use it at your own risk. The developer (Software Expert Kft.) assumes no responsibility for any damages, data loss, or business interruption caused by its use. Users are encouraged to maintain independent backups of their cloud data.

Welcome to DriveCommander, a service operated by Software Expert Kft., a company registered in Hungary (EU VAT: HU14677036, registered office: Budapest). By accessing or using DriveCommander (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms") and our Privacy Policy.

1. Definitions

  • Service: The DriveCommander web application
  • Provider: Software Expert Kft.
  • User: Any person or entity using the Service
  • Connected Account: Your Google Drive or Microsoft OneDrive account linked via OAuth

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

3. The Service

DriveCommander provides a two-panel file manager interface for cloud storage services (Google Drive, Microsoft OneDrive). The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features or subscription plans in the future, with advance notice. The Service does not display advertisements and does not collect telemetry data.

4. Account & Authentication

To use the Service, you must authenticate with your Google or Microsoft account via OAuth 2.0. OAuth tokens are stored only in your browser's session storage and are not transmitted to our servers. You may revoke DriveCommander's access at any time:

  • Google: myaccount.google.com/permissions
  • Microsoft: account.microsoft.com/privacy/app-access

5. Permissions & File Operations

You authorize the Service to perform file operations that you initiate, including: listing, viewing, copying, moving, renaming, and deleting files and folders. Some actions may be irreversible depending on the cloud provider's features (e.g., permanent deletion vs. trash/recycle bin). You are solely responsible for confirming actions and maintaining your own backups.

6. Data Handling

We aim to process all requests client-side where possible. File operations are performed directly between your browser and the cloud provider's API (Google Drive API, Microsoft Graph API). We do not download, store, or have access to your file contents on our servers.

What we do NOT store: File contents, file names, file IDs, folder structures.

What may be logged: Standard web server logs (IP address, user-agent, timestamps, HTTP status codes) for security and troubleshooting purposes, retained for up to 30 days.

For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree NOT to:

  • Use automated tools to overload, scrape, or bypass rate limits of the Service or cloud provider APIs
  • Use the Service to store, distribute, or manage illegal content or malware
  • Infringe on intellectual property rights or violate third-party rights
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, exploit vulnerabilities, or interfere with the Service's operation
  • Circumvent any security measures or access restrictions

8. Service Limitations

The Service is subject to rate limits and quotas imposed by Google and Microsoft APIs. We do not guarantee compatibility with all browsers, file types, or file sizes. The Service is provided for personal and business productivity purposes.

9. Availability, Maintenance & Termination

We may suspend, modify, or terminate the Service (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time by closing your browser session and revoking OAuth access from your Google/Microsoft account settings (see Section 4).

10. No Warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

For consumer users (B2C) in the European Union: This disclaimer does not affect your statutory rights under applicable consumer protection laws, which cannot be waived or limited by contract.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SOFTWARE EXPERT KFT. SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

For consumer users in the EU: Mandatory consumer protection rights under Hungarian and EU law remain unaffected.

12. Intellectual Property

The Service, its design, code, and branding are the property of Software Expert Kft. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, revocable license to use the Service for its intended purpose. Your files remain your property, subject to your cloud provider's terms.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.

14. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Budapest, Hungary, unless mandatory law (including EU consumer protection regulations) provides otherwise.

Before initiating legal proceedings, parties agree to attempt resolution through good-faith negotiation or mediation.
